Meeting Minutes

Meeting Started at 6:45pm, Treasurer Jerry Church presiding.

53 paid members to date.
1st order of business: Float Fly @ Chad’s this Sunday April 15. Chad will be providing burgers and hotdogs and potato salad. Members can bring buns, cookies, chips, etc. Chad reports that his pond is full after the recent rains. Motion to have the club provide drinks is approved.
Old business: Work day was held recently, the safety fence was replaced as well as the fencepost caps. Chad will grade the road as soon as he has a chance.
New Business: April 20-21, the club has been invited to put planes on static display at Westheimer airport as part of the Oklahoma Centennial festivities. Motion to attend this event is approved. We’ll have to work out who’s attending and manning the display. Contact Jerry Church and/or Jim Traw.
May 6 - the club will hold a Gumbo fun fly at the field.
May 28 - Memorial Day airshow. Sooner Magic Air Show Team is planning to attend again this year.
Dan Weber went to combat meet held at Westside RC in Yukon. Some Westside members came to CORCS and flew combat on Sunday a couple of weeks ago. They’re trying to get a friendly competition going between the 2 clubs.
Jerry Short reports that Westside will be doing a static display of warbirds at the Oklahoma Aviation Museum at Wiley Post on April 28 and CORCS members are invited to bring warbirds to display. (Update: Jerry reports that he was mistaken, the correct date is April 21, the same as the static display event at Westheimer.) This hangar is also the home of the Miss America P-51 Mustang as well as some other historic aircraft which will be on display that day.
Gordon would like to have the grass cut shorter in the area around the runway, as well as fertilize the grass, and also apply some sort of insecticide to help with the mosquitos and gnats. He agreed to research what would be needed.
Show and Tell: Hayk Terzyan brought his Extreme Flight Yak54 converted to glow, with Norvel .25 and 11×3 prop, has problems overheating the engine
Model of the Month: Chad Stinson: Lanier RC Edge 540T with Zenoah G20, weighs approx 17 lbs.
