President Scott Mayberry: Channel 44 has been taken out of service at the field due to random radio interference on this channel.

Secretary Dan Weber: Rick page took the June notes due to Dan’s absence at the meeting and passed the notes back to Dan to post on the web. The notes were posted on the web. Dan will update the roster and post it on the web.
Field Manager (Chris Banks): No Report
Web Page Manager (Justin Greenfield): Hackers broke into the web site and tried to post messages. Justin removed the material.
New business:
Upcoming Events:
July 15th Float Fly at Chad’s Lake. The event will be held from 1-5pm. Bring a dish the event is pot luck.
Jerry church will look into organizing a veteran’s float fly near the J.C McCarthy Center

Old business:
The club expressed interest in purchasing several radio scanners for use by multiple members, with the intent that a single scanner will be available for use on most flying days. Since the club appropriated money at a past meeting, Jerry Church will look into purchasing several (4) frequency scanners.
Show and Tell:
George gave a report on the slope soaring event at Watson Lake near Hayes Kansas. They also held a combat session with Zagi’s, in which pilots must loop, roll and fly for 30 seconds before landing. There were 30 planes in the air at one time!
Tyler presented a Yellow Eflite electric Cub balsa model. The model cost $130 and uses a 4200mah lipo battery pack and weighs 5 lbs with a battery and a 25 sized electric motor. The model may become a float plane.
Model of the Month Winner:
George Beaver
A purple and white Tom Boy with a Speed 400 motor with a 3:1 gear box using a 7 cell NiMH 1100mah battery. A very nice electric!

Eric reported that the NATS have started (did not attend this year) with only about 30 pilots in the open class. He noted that pylon races are increasing in popularity…
